More complex repairs or where we may need to order particular stones or materials may take a little longer, however, rest assured that your jewellery isn’t “sent away” it is all done here in our workshop studio and you won’t be without your favourite piece for too long.

If you are unsure whether your precious pieces can be repaired please give us a call or bring them in for an obligation free quote. We are happy to advise on all your jewellery needs.

Gold and silver are soft metals and do wear over time. It is advisable to have all your precious jewellery checked by a Qualified Jeweller at least once a year. In particular, it is important that mounts (settings), clasps (moving parts) and pendant bails (loops) are checked and maintained. We can check all of your jewellery for wear and tear while you wait.

A professional clean and polish once a year will bring your jewellery back to a shinning brilliance. The scratches will be polished from your precious metals allowing then to shine as new and your stones whether diamonds or coloured stones will sparkle again.

For all advice on repairs please call us on (02) 49 571 610 or come in to the workshop studio.

Professional Care and Maintenance

Caring for your precious jewellery is best not left to chance. It is advised that you have your jewellery checked by a trade qualified Master Jeweller, like Jason, at least once a year.

Jason can maintain your jewellery collection for you, a professional clean and polish will have your collection sparkling and brilliant again in no time.

Here’s how it works

Jason gives your jewellery a thorough inspection and advises on any repairs needed (like loose stones or worn settings /claws / clasps for example) then he gives your jewellery a buff and polish to remove scratches and then it goes into the ultrasonic cleaner to remove dirt and completely sanitise. If its white gold it will be rhodium plated as well.

The result is amazing. Your jewellery will look so good you will feel like you are wearing new jewellery.

Some tips for you

Fine jewellery is made from precious metals and gemstones. These materials are not indestructible and can be quite easily damaged during normal wear. Gold and silver will scratch and tarnish with normal wear and precious gems can be scratched, chipped or broken completely if they have a knock (even your diamonds).

There are precautions that are easy to take and can save you a lot of time and expense in the long run and keep your jewellery looking clean, polished, and brilliant for longer.

To prevent potential damage and as much wear as possible, take your jewellery off when you get home, especially rings, they should not be worn while doing housework, gardening, washing up etc.

Your jewellery will remain much cleaner for longer if you remove it when showering or bathing and especially in chlorinated water. Soaps, shampoos, creams, hair spray etc leave a film on your jewellery making it appear dull.

Jewellery should ideally be stored in a box with separate compartments to prevent it getting scratched or damaged by other pieces.

Jewellery should be cleaned on a regular basis between your yearly visits. Using a soft dry cloth to wipe over your collection as you put it away will help prevent tarnish and a built up of dirt. Jewellery polishing cloths will help remove more stubborn tarnish.
